Abstract

Today, countries, regions, cities and even small peasants desire to develop tourism in their regions. The most important reason for this is the consideration of the economic contribution to the region. However, in the course of this development, the impacts of the development of tourism on the local people are often ignored. On the other hand, in the developing regions, development can be influenced in a way of development by looking at the effects of tourism development on local people. Amasya, which has made significant progress in cultural tourism in recent years, was dealt with and it is aimed to determine the level of tourism development and measure the effects of tourism on developing local tourism in Amasya. For this reason, a questionnaire was applied to 536 people who were living in Amasya city center and selected by chance and tried to show how they perceive the development of tourism in the region. In the first part of the questionnaire demographic information was included, while in the second part, questions were prepared by the five-point Likert method to test how the local people understood the economic contribution, which is a tourist spot. Statistical analyzes were performed using the obtained data by SPSS analysis program.
