Abstract

The novel, a literary genre, emerged centuries ago, parallel to political and religious changes in social life in Europe. Cinema is one of the most influential arts in the modern world, with about a hundred years of history. Literatüre and Cinema are two important artistic societies that are the origin of each other. On the axis of a common consciousness To show the facts of human life, the spiritual movements of the individual, and to appeal to the masses that are addressed, have become the main points of both art branches. This is the first time in 1967 that the novel ''Foreign'', which brought Albert Camus the original fame, was inspired by cinematography in 1967. It is then re-adapted to the same name or similar names. While the adaptation of Visconti has in common with the novel in general, the difference in historical time has brought about some changes. In contrast to the novel, adaptation flows in the same line as a chain of events. Besides this, Visconti has made an adaptation that can be faithful to the content of the work, the person, the place, the time, the space elements are found the image to be able to find the roman counterparts. In our work, adaptation of foreign novel will be handled through comparison of literature and cinema art.
