Abstract

This research was conducted in order to examine the qualifications of preschool teachers regarding general teaching behaviors. Within the scope of the research, 210 pre-school teachers who were selected in the pre-school institutions affiliated to MoNE in İzmir province during 2017-2018 academic year were selected by convenient sampling. In the research, mixed and qualitative research techniques have been used together and a mixed method has been studied. Participants applied the teacher interview form developed by Erişen and Çeliköz (2003) developed by likert type 5 dimension, 43 item "General Teacher Behavior Scale" and Gürler (2017) developed by preschool education teachers to reveal their professional perceptions. Analysis of the data was done using SPSS 22 program, analysis was performed with percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test. As a result of the research; pre-school teachers' proficiency in general teaching behaviors increased as the duration of their work increased, while in the learning-teaching process their competencies were influenced by different experiences in different schools.
