Abstract

The aim of the present research was to examine the correlation between job stress and job satisfaction levels of the football referees who actively worked in the 3rd region. The sample group was made up by 202 football referees who worked in the 3rd region. A survey of 3 parts was used as data collection tool. The first part of the survey covered 5 questions about the personal information of the referees; Job Stress Scale developed by Cohen and Williamson (1988) was used in the second part; Job Satisfaction Scale developed by Hacman and Oldham (1980) was used in the third part. t-test, ANOVA and correlation analysis were used in order to test the hypothesis of the research. As the results of the research; there was not any significant difference between job stress and job satisfaction levels of the football referees in terms of sex, marital status and educational status. Also, a negatively significant correlation between job satisfaction and job stress was found.
