Abstract

Throughout their lives, people have been in the effort to transfer their emotions and thoughts to other people in a way using means such as language, paint and so on. From the marks that first people put in caves until the contemporary art, the existence of this human-effort can be seen in all works. Art, an expression effort, has preserved and developed its existence throughout human history. This development is undoubtedly affected by social life conditions. For this reason, the artist who created the art, cannot be considered without the conditions of his time. In this context, an answer via the painting artists' sample was sought whether the artist during his artistic production process was influenced by social concerns or not. With the twelve artists engaged in the study, face-to-face interviews were applied in depth, and the obtained findings were analysed by coding. According to the obtained data it was revealed that artists managed especially economic concerns and then concerns such as religious and political.
