Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the postgraduate theses made in the field of pre-school science education in Turkey for the last 5 years. 27 postgraduate theses (including 10 doctoral theses and 17 master's theses, written in Turkish) in the field of pre-school science education between 2013 and 2017 in the study were carried out. This research is a qualitative study and descriptive scanning model is used as the method of study. The doing of postgraduate theses during the last five years in Turkey was adopted as the primary screening criterion. The document analysis technique was used to collect the data and the sample of the study was determined with criterion sampling. A “Postgraduate Thesis Review Form” was developed for the purpose of studying the theses by the researchers and these theses were examined according to this form. As a result of this research it is determined that more thesis are done in the subject of “Scientific Process Skills”, the most thesis is done with “child” as a participant group. It is noteworthy that the qualitative work was very few and that there was never thesis was done with the participant group of South East Anatolia.
