Abstract

Today, unconsciously consumption of the world, the inability to protect the resources and the inability to transmit to the future have led people to attach more to the understanding of sustainability. Eco-recreationists who have strong environmental sensitivity for the formation of sustainable tourism movements participate in environmentally sensitive recreational activities and allow the protection of natural resources. The purpose of this study is to (1) establish the relationship between sustainable tourism and recreation and (2) explore the expanded marketing mix of the Zaanse Schans as an eco-recreationist tourism destination (Amsterdam). For this purpose, observation technique is used from qualitative research methods. In this context, the Zaanse Schans destination has been studied under the expanded marketing elements (7Ps). As a result of the assessments, various proposals have been made to the managers responsible for the management and marketing of destinations.
