Abstract

Milas and the surrounding villages are developed in carpeting Çomakdağ- Kızılağaç, İkiztaş and Alacam flagellum, and a high silk weaving villages are Kuzyaka. Continuing in the traditional sense, and everyday life of women in the past to the present day silk weaving and silk fabrics are used in clothes. Especially the village of Çomakdağ- weavings are the most important of marriage ceremonies. As well as silk scarf woven in the region, inner shirt, quilt covers and bed sheets, women's and men's shirt, tablecloth, napkins and girls are also used as a shawl. Thanks to the cooperation which was established in the village, particularly in the cities as Bursa, silk trade has been an important source of livelihood. In this article, it is intended to show how the production of silk weaving has been reduced in the example of Çomakdağ-Kızılağaç village. Besides, examples of old silk fabrics and silk weaving techniques are evaluated.
