Literature review for this study consisted of the detailed review of articles, books and written online sources. The piano works by D.D. Shostakovich and the importance of his role in creativity have been examined in addition to the effect of Shostakovich on the works of his successors Galina Ustvolskaya and Boris Tishchenko, and the characteristics of their unique creativity. There is very limited scientific publication on this subject in Turkish music literature.
