THE ENVIROMENT AND ENVIROMENTAL EDUCATION PERCEPTIONS OF STUDENTS SCIENCE TEACHERS: A PHENOMENOLOGICAL RESEARCH FEN BİLGİSİ ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ ÇEVRE VE ÇEVRE EĞİTİMİ ALGILARI: FENOMENOLOJİK BİR ARAŞTIRMA
This study aims to determine students science teachers’ opinions to enviroment and enviromental education. The study which is carried out with this aim designed phenomenology appropriate to qualitative research paradigm. The sample of the study was consisted of five student science teachers at Erciyes University Faculty of Education during term of 2013-2014. Semi-constructed interview has been used as data collecting instrument. Questions form was prepared by researcher and communicated to teachers. In this context, data which is achieved from interviews were analyzed content analysis technique. Data from interview have been made meaningful by coding. The research showed that students science teachers in the sample possessed relatively medium enviromental attitude and that they presented proenviromental behaviours frequently. Some suggestions have been made according to the findings.
