Abstract

Nasreddin Hodja tops at the beginning of the characters that make up the comic in Turkish oral and written literature. He collected on the interest of the world because of his wide geography today. Cartoon contests are organized in the name of him. He is a symbol of that he makes the wise irony of Turkish culture in almost every narrative. In this research, it has set off the text “The Modern Re-Appropriation of Myth”, written by Hassan Khan. Sukanya character who located in Indian scriptures has been recreated in comics and became Indian woman solidarity’s symbol from seventies to today. Intended destination at the research is recreating Nasreddin Hodja; who is a scholar, wise, humorous master in Turkish cultural memory in the context of comic and examining with the examples given in the last decade of approaching to Turkish people with an eye of critics who questioned the society.
