Abstract
Literature is an art that has pursued life since the beginning. It is possible to find the reflection of life’s every aspect in literature. Our novel, which deals with various issues and different scenes of Turkish social life since 1870, reflects the historical, social and cultural changes that took place after the Tanzimat. Significant developments in Turkish political life also take place in our novels. The case of Izmir Assassination, which caused quite remarkable results in terms of history of politics and law, was also handled by our novelists. İzmir Assassination is an assassination attempt planned to Gazi Mustafa Kemal who was in Izmir due to the dormitory visits in 1926. The assassination was not successful because it was informed earlier and numerous people who was found guilty including the assassins involved in the assassination scheme and the former Unionists who planned the assassination, were convicted and sentenced to death or imprisonment in the Courts of Independence.
