Abstract

Ata Emin is an Iraqi writer who lived in the twentieth century. His literary articles were published in a lot of newspapers and magazines. He also made a great deal of literary translations from French and English to Arabic. He pioneered in Iraq's modern awakening movement. Thus, other important Iraqi writers have benefited from his works. In this study, besides the life, literary personality and style of Ata Emin, an important personality in Iraqi literature, and his two masterpieces "Levhatun min Elvahi'd-Dehr ev Fasl min Rivayatu'l-Hayat" and "Akibetu'l-Hayat" have been studied literally and intellectually. Eventually it has been ascertained that although the author had a limited number of works, he passed on his modernist ideas, his love of revolution in literature, refrainment from all injudicious imitations which are not incompatible with modern civilized life, and his dislike of the old style in literature clearly in his works.
