Abstract

Since 1950 a great wave of immigration from Turkey to Europe is started in order to meet the needs of the workforce. The wave of migration is dispersed all over Europe, especially in Germany, in a short period of time. Turkish immigration having an economic dimension in the first period takes different dimensions over time. The Turkish presence in Europe, which was half-way left behind, gained a social and cultural dimension beyond the economic reasons of the early period. Within the scope of this study, the conditions and possibilities of native language acquisition of immigrant Turkish children will be assessed and evaluated. As a criterion and criteria for gaining a language or qualification on a language level, native language acquisition of immigrant Turkish children living in France will be addressed through the ELCO program (Enseignements de Langues et Cultures d'Origine/ Teaching of Languages and Cultures of Origin). The aim of the study is to draw attention to the difficulties of acquiring Turkish as a mother tongue and the mother tongue affairs in France, which has different cultural and ethnic elements and also has a second Turkish immigrant population.
