Abstract

This article, will discuss the reflections of the revolutionary canon and the Atatürk reforms that shaped it, the eschatological reflection of Ethem İzzet Benice (1903-1967) from the popular novel writers, " On Yılın Romanı" written for the 10th anniversary of the Republic. The principles and reforms that constituted the revolutions that Atatürk put forward were regarded as a guide by the administrators of the Republican Turkey and they were also deserved to be exalted by the writers in their works. Literaturists have responded to this demand, which has led to the formation of a "revolutionary canon". Ethem İzzet Benice introduces the Ottoman State as " old" and the Republic of Turkey as "new" in his novel. In this stady, one of the canonical works of Ethem İzzet Benice, " The Novel of the Decade" will be examined from the point of view of this "old-new comparison".
