Abstract

Although political marketing has been a relatively new discipline because of its historical background in the literature, it actually goes back a long way in history. In fact, the persons or groups aspiring to rule others have been practicing various methods to get masses follow them. In a democratic society, political parties are given the chance to do and inspire political activities by the voters. Thus, political parties or persons (leaders, candidates and party staff) set out to convince voters to get assigned. All these efforts to persuade voters are the subject of political marketing. The postgraduate (master and doctoral) studies on political marketing in Turkey are reviewed in terms of methodology, implementation and content in this study. The master's theses and dissertations were retrieved from the Higher Education Council National Thesis/Dissertation Center. Content analysis method was utilized for the review. The findings of the study may guide the future research on the subject.
