The need for maps for different users and for different purposes also necessitates the development of cartographic design. In the field of map use in education, cartographers also have important duties and responsibilities. In this context, the design of the symbols, lettering, colors, graphic representations, legend designs used on the maps in accordance with the age-related perception and education levels of the child users and the change in the design of the maps, contents and geographical information, is required. In this study, the first phase of the project to be realized within the scope of the project titled "Design and Use of Maps and Maps and Similar Products in Analogue and Numerical Environment for Primary School Pupils" conducted by the Necmettin Erbakan University Coordinator of Scientific Research Projects will be shared. By the project, it is aimed to make map designs suitable for the age groups and perception levels for elementary school pupils and to measure the contribution of these designs to the skill of using map in this age group.
