Abstract

Steps taken by organizations to adapt changing environmental conditions and sustainability require employees of organizations to perform better than their duties and to behave more harmoniously in the traditional task performances, and voluntarily behaviors of employees become important. The aim of this study is to put forward the effect of health sector employees' normative organizational commitment on organizational citizenship behavior and its sub-dimensions. The sample of the study consists of 130 employees in a public hospital in the health sector in Malatya. Data of the research were collected by questionnaire technique. For evaluating the data, reliability, frequency, correlation and regression analysis were utilized. According to the findings, it can be seen that normative organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. It was also found that normative organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on altruism, conscientiousness and sportsmanship, and hasn't any effect on courtesy and civic virtue as subdimensions of organizational citizenship behavior.
