Newspapers are still considered as the most effective medium of communication in informing the public. Headlines are an element which influences the sales and tries to draw attention of readers of newspapers that influence and inform a substantial mass. Differently from headings in common literature, headlines are written by a professional. This study aims to analyze the headlines of Bingöl Newspaper in literary terms. The newspapers were reviewed for one month and analyzed using SPSS 16 software with the content analysis method. Headlines were examined in terms of their length, shortness, clarity, being a question or a direct sentence. Also, headlines were examined with respect to spelling error, use of adjectives, and supporting sub-headlines and leads.},author={İlkay YILDIZ},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
