Abstract

Turkish communities that had been migrating since the middle of XI century, soon revealed their own written language. The new written language based on Oghuz Turkish found its own identity around XIII century. After the first period widely called Old Anatolian Turkish, the period called Classical Ottoman Turkish emerged. The period Classical Ottoman Turkish is a transition phase between today’s Turkish and Old Anatolian Turkish. In being enlightened the matters related to today’s grammar, the importance of the period is undeniable. That comparative studies are done about basic grammar concerning this period such as vocabulary, morphology, phonetic is important to reveal the development of Turkish. So, Western Turkish will be evaluated in integrity. In the study, the verbs in the work called “Kitâbu Tecvîd fî Kelâm-ı Kur’âni’l-Mecid” which covers the subject tajweed and belongs to Classical Ottoman Turkish are dealt in terms of their structure. In the research based on the registered copy with 45 Ak Ze 75/1 archive number in Manisa Public Library, the subject “verb” in point of structure has been classified as simple verbs, derived verbs, and compound verbs. Some ways like Derivation and conjuction applied for word formation in Turkish is evaluated as part of verbs.
