Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between academic motivation in university and school climate according to the opinions of university students. The research is a descriptive study and is designed in a relational screening model. The study group of the research consists of 375 university students who were studying Pedagogical Formation Training at Balıkesir University Necatibey Education Faculty during the fall semester of 2016-2017 academic year. "Academic Motivation Scale" (Karagüven, 2012) and "School Climate Scale for University Students" (Terzi, 2015a) were used as data collection tools. According to the findings, students think that school climate is at medium level. Academic motivation level is above average. There is a moderately significant relationship between school climate and academic motivation in positive way.
