Abstract

Islamic Banking or Participation Banking has made a lot of mention after its international economic crisis. Perhaps the most important reason is that although the global economy has shrunk by about 2%, Islamic Banking has been little influenced by the crisis, or even emerging from the crisis. In this growth, the methods used differently from the classical banking approach played an important role. Because the classical banking system has included fascism, the accumulation of religiously sensitive sections has remained idle. The Islamic banking sector, on the other hand, used the interest-free system arguments to increase the volume of transactions by attracting the idle capacity in the market to their structures. Because of this, the Islamic finance sector, established in 1985 and continuously developing, is now accepted at international financial markets and finds a wide working market with a transaction size exceeding 2 trillion dollars. In this context, Islamic Banking sector will be examined in this study and an analysis will be made regarding the working principles and the developments in the banking sector.
