Abstract

Nowadays, businesses have begun to perform their marketing activities over the internet by moving away from traditional marketing approach. In other words, they have used electronic marketing in their marketing activities. Developments in information technologies have led to the changes in consumer purchasing behaviours. Becoming increasingly popular of internet use ensures consumers to have access to products in a faster, cheaper and easier manner. However, this also caused customers to display a behaviour for buying unnecessary products they saw in electronic environment. The purpose of this study was to examine their trends in noncontrollable purchasing at online shoppings done by students. Simple random sampling method, which is one of the probability sampling methods, was employed as research sample and survey was used as data collection tool. It was asked 240 students questions associated with their noncontrollable purchasing behaviors in the questionnaire. The frequency analysis and t-test analyses regarding the data obtained were performed in SPPS software. The means and standard deviations were calculated. The results were interpreted.
