Abstract

An organizations survival and ability to gain competitive advantage in today’s world depends on it having quality human resources and the ability to hold on to this resource. The transformation that is changing the traditional personnel management to human resources management is not sufficient to adapt to the quickly changing environmental conditions. The structural changes put into implementation by the businesses alone are not enough create deep rooted changes in the businesses and they are not enough to provide the businesses with continuity. Organizations need to approach human resources management from a strategic point of view in order to have a say in the competition, to keep up with the times and most important of all, to survive. Hence, in this cognitive research, the concept of strategic human resources management and perspectives related to this concept will be discussed. The concepts and determinants of vertical and horizontal harmony, which have been developed with the due to increasing importance of strategic human resources management, will also be scrutinized in order to benefit this article.
