Abstract

Globalization has started to show its effects clearly in economic, political, so-cial and cultural fields these days and it has become impossible for businesses to not become integrated to the international markets, and outward oriented growth has become even more important. Being able to stand and “being able to compete” has become synonymous with each other for businesses. Busi-nesses follow new technologies on one hand and try to strengthen their finan-cial structures on the other hand. All of these provide positive results but it is not enough. “This is because machinery, facilities, technology and product design has become increasing similar in businesses” and this fact has de-creased the importance of scale economies.New production and management techniques that are based on ideas and behaviors that is human, participation and groups have come into usage widely and the fact that businesses gain competitive edge with human capital along with financial capital has become apparent. In this process, a new point of view on the “human” factor has be-come necessary. The efficient usage of human resources affects all other fac-tors and this has become noticeable for businesses in the context of strategy. To put in a few words, the relation between supremacy in competition and human resources is becoming stronger every passing day.
