Abstract

The Arab Spring which is a reflection of the changing and globalizing world started in Tunisia in 2010 and resulted in regime change in the Middle Eastern countries. The most significant effect of the Arab Spring for Turkey is taking place in our neighbor Syria. This development which can be considered important in terms of Foreign trade between Turkey and Syria in the last 10 years and especially can be considered important for the local people has hampered the Turkey-Syria trade. These negative developments along our border inifated the influx of nearly 3 million refugees to European countries and especially the right to Turkey, In this study, the economic and social importance of the Arab Spring to Turkey and Syria which connected with both the historical and economic ties will be discussed and search for solutions to the refugee problem.
