Abstract

The responsibility and the role of the chefs have a great importance in presenting the culture of the country, turning the services into unique experience, providing regular visits to the target country, supplying continuous training opportunities for the culinary workers. Therefore, workers who are experienced and skilled, have enough know-how of the job as well as having no work-family conflict, not easily exposed to work stress and having high quality of life levels are needed in hotel businesses. In this study, there has been a research in order to specify the relationship between the work-family conflicts, work stress and the quality of life of the culinary workers and to specify their effect on work-family conflict and work stress. Survey technique has been used in the research. The obtained data has been subjected to statistical analysis. First it has been studied to determine that the work-family conflict level, work stress level and quality of life level of the culinary workers and what their socio-demographic characteristics are. It has been determined that the culinary workers’ level of work-family conflict and the level of work stress are low and the level of quality of life is high. While there is a positive and significant relationship between work-family conflict and work stress, there is a negative relationship between work-family conflict, work stress and quality of life.
