It is uncertain whether Bacon had any idea about the stage that knowledge capitalism today when he stated that "knowledge is power". Yet, it could be said that knowledge is both a source of power and a threat to survival for contemporary universities. Universities have become centers of power due to their distinctive role in knowledge production and they also face with a transformation which contradicts with their traditional values. With this paradigm change in higher education, universities have to construct their identities and to define their missions again. In this regard emerging Multiversity/Entrepreneur University model has been subject to critics for its market oriented elements. Traditions and academic values make universities unique institutions, they also result in critics which regard universities as institutions against change. In current circumstances, it is clear that universities cannot survive with their traditional structure, yet the problem lies in the fact that how different value systems of market and academy will be integrated. This study follows this discussion lines and examines various dimensions regarding dynamics of change facing higher education today.
