The fact that older people’s usage of urban spaces is different from the general society has been established by various earlier studies. Especially, their psychosocial needs and as a reflection of these needs, the activities they perform in urban spaces are different from children, youth, and adults. However, there are not enough studies revealing older people’s need to access necessary facilitators for a healthy psychological development, and the affordances of open spaces that allows the realization of the activities that will meet these needs. This study aims to investigate older people’s usage of urban parks and the affordances of parks. Three parks that are mainly preferred by older people in the city of Trabzon in Turkey were selected, and the affordances that they provide were determined with questionnaire studies.
