Abstract

Sevgi Soysal, who is known as the author of "March 12th Romanı", has successfully reflected her convictions and human rights violations she witnessed during his exile to Adana, in “Yıldırım Bölge Kadınlar Koğuşu” and “Şafak” novels. In addition, the Author made the pioneer of the second wave feminist movement in the world that developed in 1960 in Turkey after 1980. Sevgi Soysal has dealt with women's rights in the case of violence in women, novels, stories, newspaper writings and radio talk, which are regarded as fundamental problems in the universal dimension. Violations of women's rights to the works of Soysal are reflected in the context.of sexual violence, honor killings, physical violence, emotional violence and economic violence. Factors which put women through the violence in the public arena, society and family are militarism, nationalism and gender discrimination. Despite the legal and political grounds that allow the protection of women's rights in Turkey, Sevgi Soysal criticises the problems caused by the patriarchal mentality structure in practice.
