Abstract

The acceptance of Islam by the Turks is one of the events that shaped world history. Thus, Islam has gained a new leap. Nevertheless, the first encounters of Turks and Muslims have not been very positive due to the repressive policies of the Umayyads. The moderate policies followed by the Abbasids and the common struggle against the Chinese in the Battle of Talas in 751 were a good start for both sides to understand each other. As a result, the Turks, who have begun to recognize Islam more closely, have begun to adopt this religion in an increasing density. The Turks, who had previously been in different religious preferences, have different motivational factors about their constantness in Islamic religion. The similarities between Gök-Tanrı faith and Islam, the facilitating practices of Mürcie, Hanefism and Maturidiyye in the east of the Islamic world, the activities of sufis and merchants, contributions of Samanids, Qarakhanid and Seljukids, the socio-economic attractiveness of the Islamic world are some of them. The common result of all these developments is the emergence of a union that gives direction and changes course to the history.
