Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived emotional abuse and attachment in adolescence. In this study, descriptive model is applied. The sample of this research is consists of students attending high school. In this study Perception of Psychological Maltreatment Inventory for Adolescents (POPMIFA), Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R), Short Form of Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA) and to collect information about demographic variables Personal Information Form developed by the researcher were used. In this study it is found that there were no gender differences between perceived emotional abuse from mother and father; there were significant gender differences between attachment to parents and peers; there were significant relationships between attachment dimensions and perceived emotional abuse; attachment to mother was a significant predictor of peer attachment dimensions.
