Abstract

Yahya Kemal went to Paris in 1903 and he has been for nine years. Therefore Yahya Kemal met lots of historian and writer and he recognized West. As a result of this, Yahya Kemal made a composition culture of Western with himself thoughts. The subject of this study, which contains traces of Greek mythology in the poems is the product of a new perspective gained as a result of his Paris trip. When Yahya Kemal returned to Turkey, he iniated Nev- Yunanilik movement with Yakup Kadri, he suggest that The Mediterranean basin should be saw as the source however this movement ended after a short period. Altough It is saw effects of Greek mythology in some of the writing of Yahya Kemal, in this study, "Biblos Kadınları", "Bergama Heykeltıraşları" and "Sicilya Kızları" were examined, the influence of Greek mythology were also detected.
