Abstract

The main goal of this research is to analyze and assess the school based curriculum development process. In this research qualitative research model was used and the research designed as a case study. The research group was comprised of the third and fourth grade classroom teachers, guidance counselor, curriculum development specialist and administrators of a private primary school which is located in Gaziantep during 2014-2015 academic year. Interview form was used as data collection tools of the research. The data from the interviews analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The findings of the research indicates that the studies conducted during the process of developing school based value education curriculum such as; considering the vision, mission, principles and values of the school, determining needs of the students and the school and including all stakeholders to the process; contributes the effectiveness of the curriculum.
