Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify teachers’ opinions about to building identity and giving citizenship consciousness on geography subjects in social studies lesson. Research data is obtained from the social studies teachers working at secondary schools in Kayseri in 2013-2014 school year. Research of data acquisition in 286 teacher sample data-gathering tool as developed by Servet (2014) and 42 as the items have been used and the scale of the gains data geography topics. The data were analyzed in SPSS according to certain variables. In analyzing the questionnaire data; frequency, percentage and arithmetic mean, t test and variant analyze are used. On solving the datas, which were obtained in consequence of the semi-structured interviews, descriptive analysis technique were used.
