Abstract

US Central Bank after the decision of stopping buying bond to aid economy some countries classified as “fragile five” and this concept has been developed. In this context, as grouped fragile five; Brazil, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Turkey’s macroeconomic indicators examined and studied to determine the fragile structures. The aim of this study is to examine the interactions between fragility and crisis conceptions. In addition, fragility indicators for the 2005-2013 period of five countries; external fragility, fiscal fragility and financial fragility indicators as grouped examined to determine the status of creating the crisis. Even though some risky macroeconomic variables for fragile five countries appeared after 2008, they haven’t recently resulted in a serious crisis.
