Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the influencing factors of College students' milk and dairy products consuming preferences in Unye District - Ordu, Turkey. In order to achieve this aim face to face interview technique was applied in 2014, and 400 undergraduate students were selected according to gender, age, department, residence, and income level. Daily milk, probiotic, cheese, and other dairy products consumption were determined. The results were analyzed by the chi-square test and SPSS 20 statistical software package was used. According to results, there were significant relations among the variables except age, gender, residence and income level (P<0.01). Its taste, smell, digestive problems, having allergies, and price were claimed for the reasons by nonconsumers. As a conclusion; the consumer preferences have been affected by brand, advertising, promotions, and social environment.
