Maxim as an erudite statement based on thought always gets attention and is uttered everywhere. What kinds of factors lead Cenap to be interested in such a field of statement? Considering such a thought, we see that mood of the artist and his/her knowledge as well as western instances are distinctive factors on this subject. Tiryaki Sözler in which he collects his maxims are composed of statements that reflect his knowledge, his sharp wit, his choosy personality, his ironic side.
