Therefore, both in the world and in our country, the inevitability of learning and teaching a foreign language is an undeniable fact. From this point, the purpose of this study was to analyze the attitudes of middle and high school students at private schools in Gaziantep, known as an industrial city in Turkey, towards German language learning according to different variables. The most important reason why I wanted to work on this topic was to reveal whether different variables such as gender, class level, parents’ educational status and parents’ profession have a significant impact on middle and high school students’ motivation and attitudes in choosing and learning German as a course. Besides, I wanted to learn German language teachers’ views on this subject at private schools in Gaziantep.
