Abstract

For teaching profession to be fulfilled deservedly, teachers are to have high job satisfaction and low levels of the feeling loneliness in work life. The jobs of teachers who continue their professional lives are to satisfy their social, cultural, and economic needs. Thus, higher levels of productivity can be expected from teachers with high level of job satisfaction and pleased with their job and this will also have reflections in the society. The aim of this study is to determine geography teachers’ job satisfaction and level of loneliness in work life and to describe their relation to each other. In line with this aim, this study attempted to reveal whether their job satisfaction levels and loneliness in work life significantly vary in terms of gender, age, marital status, length of service and weekly teaching hours.
