Abstract

This study investigating the views and suggestions of secondary school teachers and students regarding discipline problems and strategies to cope with them is a mixed-method research. Representing 30 state schools in the city of Adana, 310 teachers and 508 students participated in the quantitative part of the study while 15 teachers and 15 students were involved in the qualitative part. The quantitative data gained through the Discipline Problems Evaluation Questionnaire is analyzed by means of descriptive statistics besides the t-test, whereas the interview data is analyzed through the content analysis technique. At the end of the study, it was found that the opinions of both teachers and students of the discipline problems were similar.
