Abstract

Today, it has been seen that the cultural and artistic activities including indoor and outdoor exhibitions, concerts and performances in the game process have been fictionalized with an organization as a whole as well as special shows organized in opening and closing ceremonies of international sports events. As a result of the proposal of International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge's, with the decision taken by the committee in 2007, "Youth Olympic Games" has been organized as a new organization and major sports event since 2010. In this study; the open air sculptures competition process and the experience and outcomes of an applied sculpture project organized as an art event within the II. Summer Youth Olympics organized in Nanjing, China in 2014 and announced at international stage to artists and designers for the selection of open air sculptures to be placed in the Olympic Center were transferred.
