EROSION SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS IN GALLIPOLIS PENINSULA USING GIS BASED ON RUSLE (3D) METHOD GELİBOLU YARIMADASI’NDA CBS TABANLI RUSLE (3D) YÖNTEMİYLE EROZYON DUYARLILIK ANALİZİ
The purpose of this paper is identifying and mapping erosion risk fields and the amount of average soil loss per year in Gallipolis peninsula using Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) based on Geographical Information System (GIS). In this context, firstly general geographical characteristics and erosion risk potential of the field are explained. Then, data taken from various sources are classified according to their impact on erosion and transferred into GIS. These classified data are transformed into raster maps which have 10x10 resolutions. Thus, RUSLE equation is applied using Raster Calculator and erosion risk groups maps and the amount of average soil loss in Gallipolis Peninsula is found. Findings and results of the research are cross checked in the field with field study. Gallipolis peninsula is classified under six risk groups.
