Abstract

With the end of the World War II in 1945, the World was saved from the clash environment. Yet, the split of the World in the axis of two distinct powers and ideologies could not be prevented. The two leading powers of the post WW II era (USA-USSR) and two opposing ideologies (capitalism-communism) laid the foundations of a cold war without direct fighting. In the West, specifically by the USA, a bitter struggle was initiated against the USSR and the communist ideology represented by this state. With the influence of the USA, Turkey became one of countries in which effective struggles against communism took place. In this article, Turkish fight against communism and the level of the US influence will be revealed. The US influence became the guarantee of the existence of the Turkish governments. Turkey went down in history as the country hosted the most interesting kind of struggle against communism.
