Workplace Harrassment: A Study On Academıcıans Workıng In Cumhuriyet Unıversıty İŞ YERİNDE PSİKOLOJİK TACİZ: CUMHURİYET ÜNİVERSİTESİNDE ÇALIŞAN AKADEMİSYENLER ÜZERİNE BİR ÇALIŞMA
Psychological harassment (mobbing) in the workplace is one of common problems in contemporary work life. Employees working in educational sector frequently experience psychological harassment. Also there is a considerable body of work in the literature that revealing high level of mobbing in universities which have important place in educational sector. The aim of this study is to examine the prevalence of workplace harassment among academicians working in Cumhuriyet University and to investigate the influences of sociodemographic factors (gender, marital status, age, study area and titles) on work place harassment. The study was conducted with 312 participants. The subjects were 172 male and 140 female academicians. SPSS 18. Package program was used to analyze the data obtained in the study. In the analysis of data, frequency and percentage distribution were presented and independent sample t-test and one-way anova analysis were used. Findings show that the prevalence of work
