Abstract

Consumer socialization is the process that consumers learn skill, attitudes and knowledge about consumption as a result of contact with other consumers in the market. In parallel with the widespread use of social networks, consumption based peer communication on social networks emerges as a new variable of consumer socialization model. In this study, a conceptual model is developed which determines the effects of peer communication via social networks on product and services attitudes and purchase request among adolescents and is given the results obtained from the field work carried out with 491 adolescents aged 15-19 in Adana. Findings discussed from the perspectives of theory.
