THE RELATION BETWEEN ACCEPTANCE-REJECTION LEVELS AND SOCIAL BEHAVIOR CONTROL OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN’S MOTHERS

Abstract

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the maternal acceptance-rejection levels and social behavior control of children in preschool period. The study group includes 739 mothers who have children attend preschools (404 children from public preschools and 335 children from private preschools). The study group was selected by random cluster sampling method. Relational screening model was carried out. Personal Information Form; Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (Mother Form) and the Social Behavior Control Instrument were used to collect data. The results of the study indicate that the participant mothers indicate high level of maternal acceptance and social behavior control towards their children. Furthermore, the results indicate that the mothers of younger children show higher acceptance and social behavior control than mothers who have older children. Also, it was found that the social behavior control of mothers increase by the level of acceptance level
