Sportive activities have been changed and transformed according to the social and economic conditions of the operated ages. Sport has gained new speciliaties and functions with the transformation that emerged with modern society. One of the first of these new functions is the diplomatic usage of sport. Our study examines the diplomatic functions of sport under different examples. The most interesting example is the unofficial national football matches between Turkey and USSR during 1930s which are not indicated in Turkish literatüre.
