Abstract

Cinema made its mark on twentieth century's technological, economical, artistic and cultural history. Cinema is a technologically advanced apparatus, as well as a powerful economic sector, an art which it's aesthetic value gained legitimacy at once, and literally a cultural production field. From the perspective of cultural history, cinematic texts (meaning movies) are cultural products which put forward a representation of some topic. The aim of this article is to analyze cultural differences and contrasts of the West (Europe) and East (Anatolia) which found representation in games and toys of the movie I Loved a Turk (1969) -written and directed by Halit Refiğ (1934-2009). Method of this research is not only based on content analysis of the movie.
