Abstract

The aim of our study called “Type and Costume in Commedia Dell’arte Theatre” is to identify the costumes and accessories used for examining Commedia Dell’arte Theatre which came from Italian Public Theatre customs and has been dominant for two hundred years after it emerged in Europe and affected the understanding of theatre in many counties from its existence to today. In our era although it has universal language, when it is evaluated in historical development and made up a product of public culture, the art of theatre has been shaped by being fed from customs and local characteristics. Commedia Dell’arte Theatre which has evaluated this evolution for the sake of cherishing and protecting cultural values and succeeded to carry until today by taking up them, still continue its existence today.
